What a great video of three inspiring women. I’m envious of Emil’s legacy and grateful that Charlotte acknowledged the contributions that Boca residents made in passing the 2016 referendum to preserve Boca’s ICW parks for recreation.
A mayor who asked ‘what can I do for Boca unlike his successors who ask ‘what can Boca do for me’. Most of us are probably unaware of what we owe to this family.
He was a true visionary in preserving the city by the beach, for all its citizens and future generations to come.
To the Danciu Family:
Watching this interview has been inspiring for me on my journey to become Boca Raton’s next Mayor. Energized by the many voices I have come to know in the last few years and the heartfelt sentiment by residents to preserve our green spaces, our parks and our beach, I am wholly committed to advancing public policy to achieve those ends.
Public policy must be accompanied with appropriations. To that end, as Mayor, I will immediately support moving forward with phase two of the Countess de Hoernle Park (Spanish River Athletic Facility) as this commitment by the city has been pending for way too long now.
I will also support the city assisting the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District with funding for the District’s upcoming capital improvements throughout all the park and beach properties city wide. This type of financial commitment would seem consistent with the vision of Mayor Danciu and I promise to use his vision as a guiding light.
Thank you to the Danciu family for providing the current day BocaWatch reader this remembrance of what can only be viewed as inspired leadership; leadership that created a sense of place for Boca Raton different and apart from all its surrounding communities. Al Zucaro, Publisher
