Both the website and the app appear to have crashed, leaving blank screens and never-ending loading icons on thousands of devices. Users have taken to rival social media site X (formerly Twitter) to write about their woes, with some going as far as saying the outage is the “worst day” of their life. “Reddit being down means my posts are missing out on potential traffic and upvotes and karma this is literally the worst day of my life,” one user wrote. Another added: “I guess Reddit is down. How else am I supposed to waste time looking at cat and guinea pig pictures?” It’s unclear what has sparked the disruption. Reddit is currently investigating the issue, which it says affects desktop webpages, mobile webpages and the mobile app. “Typical mess,” a third X user wrote. “Again?,” asked a fourth. Just yesterday, the platform suffered a similar incident, according to Reddit’s server status page, that had been resolved.
