BOCA RATON, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2016) – Peter Baronoff, chairman and CEO of Boca Raton-headquartered Promise Healthcare, and his wife, Carmel, were honored with the esteemed Outstanding People And Leaders (OPAL) Award.

The award recognizes Boca Raton citizens who have demonstrated an active commitment to serve their neighbors and the city through philanthropic work aimed at making the community a better place to live, learn, work and play. The Baronoff’s were recognized for their commitment to health and wellness.

“Peter and Carmel represent the essence of why Boca Raton is a thriving, caring community,” said Neil Saffer, co-chair of the OPAL Awards for the Boca Raton Rotary Club. “They are always at the forefront of efforts to make our community better and have brought a new meaning to the word ‘commitment.’”

Although much of his time is dedicated to building the recognized and respected Promise Healthcare and Success Healthcare Hospitals, Peter believes that we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities. He shows this through his leadership on the Board of Trustees of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Peter’s involvement includes the Executive Committee and he is the Chairperson of the Medical Staff Committee.

“Philanthropic involvement should be a critical part of both your personal life and work life, and I try to instill this belief as part of my company culture. You’re never too young or too old to give back,” he said. “Communities benefit from educational and cultural opportunities and world-class healthcare. That’s why each one of our Promise hospitals and skilled nursing facilities is involved in various charitable programs that benefit their local community.”

Carmel has dedicated her life to wellness as demonstrated through her new national television series, on PBS “Living Well With Carmel”. Each episode is tailor-made for an audience that wants to live the life of their dreams in mind, body and spirit through delicious food, proper nutrition, fitness and the active pursuit of an adventure-filled lifestyle. Carmel is a cheerleader for living life to the fullest. She and the series deliver a dynamic source of optimism, teaching viewers that we can always climb new mountains at every age, and pursue things we’ve always wanted.

“I’m passionate about guiding people in the right direction, whether it be through my health and fitness programs or volunteering at various community philanthropies,” she said.

The Baronoffs spend much of their free time working to raise scholarship funding for local kids to attend college through the Boca Raton Rotary Club.

The Baronoffs, along with other 2017 honorees Jordan Zimmerman, Arthur Adler and Yvonne Boice-Zucaro, will be recognized at the Boca West Country Club on Jan. 14, 2017.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Rotary Club of Boca Raton’s service missions, including Youth Scholarship Programs.
